Most businesses in Futrono are open from 9:00 am to 22:00 h, with a lunch break from 13:00 to 15:00 h. On Saturdays almost everyone works a half-day. All stores are closed on Sundays, except tourism service providers.

The closest airport is the Aeropuerto Pichoy (ZAL) in Valdivia. You can get there by taking the regional intercity buses. Bus information can be found in the transportsection of this website.

Futrono is located in a temperate rainy region. This climate is characterized by rainfall all year long, which helps to maintain the green landscape. Also, in some areas of the district, located 600 m above sea level (1,970 ft), there is presence of ice. Under these conditions, the temperature drops and snowfalls are possible. The mean annual temperature in Futrono is 15° C (59 °F), making this place suitable for countless activities throughout the year. In summertime, the pleasant temperatures invite you to enjoy the beaches of fine sand; in the winter cold, hot springs and thermal baths are an excellent choice.

The Banco Estado is the only place in Futrono where you can exchange international currency. The local bank branch is located on Arturo Alessandri St. s/n, next to the Municipalidad de Futrono. Opening hours are from 9:00-14:00h, Monday through Friday. Other services are available at this bank as well.

Futrono has a Tourist Information Office, where you can ask questions and get all kinds of information about accommodations, restaurants, tourist activities and additional services. This office is at the corner of Bernardo O’Higgins St. and J. Manuel Balmaceda St. s/n. The contact number is 63 2 482636; hours are: 8:30-21:00 h in the summer and 10:00-18:00 h in the winter.

Taxis are the best way to move around Futrono, since the town is not large at all. You can find taxi contact information in the transportsection. It is worth mentioning that some taxi lines are available 24 hours a day. If you want to get to nearby tourist areas (e.g. Llifén), the intercity buses are your best option, with many buses running from Monday through Friday.
